Description
We are looking for a child caregiver to start on May 1, 2019 for two children ages 4 and 6 for work in a private household where the care is being provided. This is a full-time (morning/day with a minimum of 40 hours/week), contract position for approximately 2 years. Position will often involve overtime hours.
Wage: $15/hour, overtime paid at provincial standards

Job Duties: Successful applicant will be expected to:
•Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents,
•Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties,
•Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties,
•Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens,
•Shop for food and household supplies,
•Bathe, dress and feed infants and children,
•Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents,
•Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children,
•Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home,
•Take children to and from school, appointments and lessons,
•Tend to emotional well-being of children,
•Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development,
•Organize, activities such as games and outings for children,
•Prepare and serve nutritious meals,
•Supervise and care for children,
•Help children with homework.
Location of Work: Southwest Calgary, Alberta, Canada (Roxboro)
Transportation: Public transportation is available. Travel expenses paid by employer.
Security checks: criminal record check, child abuse registry check, child welfare check, vulnerable sector check
Work Setting: Employer’s private home where the care is provided. Non-smoking. Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: this is NOT a condition of employment.
Benefits: Provincial health insurance or comparable private health insurance coverage if not eligible for provincial health insurance
Skill Requirements:
•Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, First Aid Certificate
•Education:Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent
•Experience:1 year to less than 2 years
