Le Buffet des Continents located at 365 Lamontagne Street, St-Jerome, Quebec, J7Y 0L7, tel: 450.438.1099 is looking to fill 1 cook position.
Main duties:
– Prepare and cook meals and specialties for cuisines from all over the world such as pastries, sauces, soups, salads, vegetables, meat, poultry and fish dishes, and create decorative pieces for special events;
-Oversee kitchen operations;
-Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment;
-Set up and oversee buffets;
-Clean kitchen and work area;
-Plan menus, determine size of food portions, and estimate food requirements;
-Train kitchen staff;
-Dealing with orders as they come in;
Important qualities: Work well under pressure and with others, resourceful, organized, serious applicants for long term work position
Languages: Oral English and/or French necessary
Experience needed to apply for the position: minimum of 2 years as a cook, knowledge in International cuisine (Asian, South American, North American, and European) would be an asset
Education: no formal education is necessary
Salary: 17$ per hour
Full time work required 32 hours per week which will include days, nights, weekends
Type of position: Permanent
