The position is for a one year term which may be renewable for a further year. Salary $50,000 to $60,000.

The Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC) is a National Indigenous Organization representing the political voice of Indigenous women and girls in Canada. Incorporated in 1974, NWAC works to advance the social, political, and cultural well-being and equality of Indigenous women through advocacy, education, research and policy. This exciting opportunity aims to make a difference in the lives of Indigenous women in Canada and around the world.
Your Work
Deliver training sessions using the existing NWAC Honouring Toolkit Develop on-line resources and educational materials to complement the existing NWAC Honouring Toolkit Engage in background research, prepare documents and reports and analyze data. Other related duties as required from time to time.

Required Criteria
Education and Experience
Post-secondary degree or diploma. However, at least 2 years experience or equivalent experience working with the public, particularly Indigenous communities, could be considered as education.
Experience Organizing Workshops
Experience delivering training sessions
Core Competencies
Knowledge
The Project Coordinator must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous Peoples in Canada and internationally, their cultures, histories and traditions; and
Project Management Training delivery methodologies.
Skills
The Project Coordinator must demonstrate the following skills:
Project management skills;
Effective verbal, presentation and listening communications skills;
Effective written communications skills;
Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized word-processing programs at a highly proficient level Ability to take direction and work independently; and,
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and organize work effectively and under pressure.
Personal Attributes
The project coordinator must maintain strict confidentiality in performing their duties. The project coordinator must also demonstrate the following personal attributes:
Be honest and trustworthy;
Be respectful and possess cultural awareness and sensitivity; and,
Be flexible and demonstrate sound work ethics.
Assets
Relevant experience working or volunteering with Indigenous peoples, groups or organizations is an asset.
Other
Preference will be given to Indigenous women candidates. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Interviews will be held in Ottawa or by teleconference.
