Aboriginal Youth Career Strategy

The First Nations and Inuit Youth Aboriginal Youth Career Employment Strategy (FNIYES) is a program by the Government of Canada to aid the indigenous peoples of Canada to gain education and jobs in the labour market and be a part of Canada’s economic success however the government of Canada funds this program with about $24 million yearly while since it launches on 1997, this program had helped about 150,000 indigenous people to get education and job opportunities for the youth.

The FNIYES’ main goal is to provide a better life for these people by developing or enhancing their employability skills by getting them exposed to a variety of career options and helping them understand the importance of education and employment however the hope is that this would help Canada’s first nations youth to become gainfully employed in various jobs based on the experiences and skills that they learn from this program.
