Citizens band (CB) radio, Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment

Accident or incident reports, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trip reports, Bill of lading, Trans-border documentation, Driver logbook

 

Specific Skills

Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Load and unload goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Receive and relay information to central dispatch, Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, Perform brake adjustments, Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption, Perform preventive maintenance

 

Transportation/Travel Experience

Local, National, Short-haul, Long-haul, Regional, Provincial/territorial

Weight Handling

Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

 

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)

Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles)

we will assist the driver to apply for Alberta Class 1 licence through Mandatory Entry Level Training (MELT)

Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks) will be an asset.
