Description
Position: Early Childhood Educator
Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
Wage: $18.50-22/hour (Depending on experience)
Hours: 30 – 40 hr/week
Benefits:
- 4% vacation pays
- Paid ½ sick day per month
Job Duties:
- Develop Childcare programs to promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- Guide children to learn proper eating, dressing, toilet habits manners
- Supervise children in playground and keep them in a safe environment in outdoor activities
- Plan outdoor activities and assist children in taking a short walk
- Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and concerns of children
- Suggest activities of other ECEs and ECE assistants
- Build a good relationship with other employees and children
Job requirements:
- ECE Certificate is required
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate is required
- 1~2 years of Experience in Child Care is required
Educational Requirements:
- Completion of a two to four-year BC government-approved college program in Early Childhood Education OR BC government-approved Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development is required.
