Salary: $158,000
Term: 24 months
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

POSITION SUMMARY
The Advance Process Control (APC) Specialist is responsible for optimizing and maintaining APC systems across various industrial sites. Key duties include monitoring APC performance, troubleshooting, generating performance reports, and collaborating with Process Engineers to address issues, ensuring seamless operations and efficiency. This role also supports continuous improvement through the development and maintenance of APC applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Routine monitoring of APCs – this includes troubleshooting of APC related issues, direct communication with Process Engineers and Panel operators to address any issues affecting their ability to keep the APCs online, ensuring the optimization of the APCs are being met and evaluating the performance of soft sensors (inferentials) to ensure they do not drift from laboratory readings.
- Reporting to relevant stakeholders about the APC performance – this includes a weekly APC report, Monthly Inferential and APC Stewardship reports and Monthly, Quarterly and Year to Date KPIs.
- Development of new APC solutions and maintenance of existing applications. With the APC team being Regional this maybe at any of our client sites.
- APC training of Operators and other interested parties.
- Data Analysis – this is done in Excel or a number of different applications such as SEEQ or Honeywell Suite of products.
- Support software and hardware upgrade activities that involve APC related equipment.
- Other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years designing, implementing and maintaining advance process control technologies
- APC Certification in advanced process control technologies and methodologies.
- 5+ years of experience working with Honeywell systems (Experion PKS, ESVT/EST, TPS/TDC3000) and process controllers (C300, C200, HPM, APM).
- Skilled in integrating third-party PLCs and devices with DCS.
- Proficiency in industrial communication protocols: Modbus RTU & TCP/IP, Serial (RS 485, RS 422, RS 232).
- Networking expertise in Fault Tolerant Ethernet (FTE) and Ethernet configurations.
- Windows domain administration for Experion and TPS environments, with OPC connectivity for third-party servers.
- Advanced Excel skills, including macro-based tools.
- Experience in configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting Honeywell TDC3000 control schemes, including basic algorithms and CL/AM/PMX coding.
