Description

We are looking for an Assistant Manager- Food Services for Georgian Bay Family Restaurant located at 401 Hume St, Collingwood, ON L9Y 1W7, Canada Canada.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee daily food and beverage operations, ensuring seamless coordination between the kitchen, bar, and front-of-house teams to deliver a high-quality dining experience.

  • Assist with staff scheduling, onboarding, and performance management, while fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and exceptional service.

  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and portioning to ensure all menu items meet established standards for consistency, taste, and visual appeal.

  • Step in to support kitchen operations during busy periods, including basic food preparation, garnishing, and plating, ensuring timely service and smooth workflow.

  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback with a calm, solutions-oriented approach, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Track and maintain inventory for kitchen, bar, and dining area supplies; liaise with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and cost-effective purchasing.

  • Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation protocols, including food safety guidelines, WHMIS standards, and workplace cleanliness.

  • Supervise POS system usage and cash handling procedures, including daily reconciliations, shift reports, and end-of-day balancing.

  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar leads to ensure effective communication during peak service hours, large bookings, and special events.

  • Assist in the planning and execution of promotions, themed events, seasonal menu rollouts, and community engagement initiatives.

  • Participate in menu planning discussions by providing feedback on customer preferences, service flow, and popular items.

  • May perform other related duties or provide hands-on support in any department as required to maintain smooth service operations.


 

Prerequisites:

Education: Secondary School Certificate or equivalent experience 

Experience & Skills: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience. 

Annual Salary:                        $53,200 to $57,000 for 30 to 40 Hours per week

Terms of Employment:           Fulltime and permanent

Benefits:                                 4 % Vacation Pay
