Position: Early Childhood Educator

Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

Wage: $20.00 ~ 22.00/Hour (depending on experience)

Working Hour: 30 – 40 hrs/week

Benefits:

Job Duties:

·         Provide experiences that promote children’s understanding of their own and other cultures and value system

·         Organize physical and social environment to extend and expand child-directed pay experiences

·         Encourage and assist each child in carrying out daily routines

·         Work with staff to plan, carry out and review individual program plans

·         Plan activities by taking children to field trips, reading books, and teaching songs

·         Attend to children’s physical needs for diapering, toileting, eating and sleeping

·         Establish enjoyable daily eating routines

·         Provide positive guidelines such as re-directing, positive language, and reinforcement

·         Organize space, equipment, and materials prior to activities

·         Detect the signs of potential learning of behavioral problems of children, and prepare reports for parents or supervisor

·         Discuss the program’s daily events with family members at drop-off and pick-up times

·         Follow childcare licensing regulations

·         Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children

Experience requirements:

·         Experience as E.C.E. in a child-care providing facilities is an asset.

Educational Requirements:

·         College Certificate or diploma in Early Childhood Education is required.

Certificate Requirements:

·         First Aid Certificate & CPR Certificate

·         E.C.E. Certificate/License to practice in BC

Language Requirements: English
