Job Duties:
- Greet customers warmly and ensure a positive shopping experience
- Accurately determine and process payments for gas, diesel, propane exchanges, snacks, beverages, pizzas, tobacco products, and lottery tickets using electronic or manual cash registers, optical scanners, or other devices
- Weigh bulk items as needed to ensure accurate pricing
- Handle payments made by cash, cheque, credit card, or automatic debit efficiently
- Package purchased items by bagging or wrapping merchandise as required
- Provide customers with information about products, services, and store promotions
- Reconcile total payments received with total sales at the end of each shift to ensure accurate financial records
- Verify the age of customers purchasing lottery tickets and tobacco products
- Stock shelves with merchandise and maintain a clean and organized checkout counter area to ensure a welcoming environment
