This role involves working in various and long hours.
Must be able to work without supervision.
Requires travel to other Canadian provinces and cross the border (USA)
Must have a clean driving abstract
Job Duties:
- Operate and drive trucks to transport goods and material to destinations
- Oversee all aspects of vehicles, such as the condition of equipment, loading and unloading, and safety and security of cargo
- Ensuring the safety and security of cargo
- Receive and relay information to a central dispatcher
- Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle systems and equipment such as tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage and create an inspection report
- Record cargo information, distance traveled, fuel consumption and other information in a log book or on the on-board computer
- Communicate with the dispatcher and other drivers using a two-way radio, cellular telephone, and on-board computer
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 1-2 years of experience.
Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
Language: None/Basic English is acceptable
Wage: $21.00/ hourly
