Construction General Labour

Compensation: $17 – $18.25 /hour Based on Experience

As a Construction General Labourer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of onsite construction tasks in an effort to assist with project completion, on time and within budget.

We are seeking an experienced construction labourer with experience in industrial, commercial and institutional projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in construction work.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Understand your role and responsibilities as they relate to a specific project
  • Ensure all safety requirements are followed and met, striving for zero safety incidents
  • Report any job site injury and/or illness in an immediate manner to the appropriate Supervisor and/or Director of Operations
  • Advise General Foreman / Supervisor on site of any tasks you are being asked to perform that you are untrained in
  • Take advantage of opportunities to learn from those on-site
  • Maintain a can-do attitude
  • Ensure the proper level of quality is maintained while also attaining the outlined timelines of the task
  • Communicate material and equipment needs to the General Foremen / Supervisor in a proactive manner
  • Track and properly manage all company tools and equipment assigned to you
  • Follow the instruction in an effort to complete tasks correctly the first time
  • Be open-minded to coaching and development opportunities
  • Submit accurately complete paperwork in a timely manner
  • Detailed, on-going, timely communications with General Foreman / Supervisor

Physical Demands:

This job requires you to:

  • Be able to lift 66lbs
  • Kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and sit
  • Be able to stand, walk, talk, hear, see and smell
  • Be exposed to extreme heat and cold; fumes or airborne particles
  • Be able to distinguish colours
  • Be exposed to differing noise levels from moderate to loud
  • Hearing requirements include the ability to hear alarms on equipment, client calls and instructions
  • Perform repetitive motions
  • Occasionally be required to perform overtime duties
  • Keep safety in mind at all times
  • Work indoors
  • At times the facilities in which we work can be warm, noisy and wet
  • Employee may also work in clean, food-grade standards and need to follow all necessary facility procedures
  • Work outdoors
  • Employee will be exposed to all weather condition
  • Required at times to undertake work in wet, dirty and/or odorous conditions

  • Work both on your own and as part of a team
