We are looking for well experienced “Cook” for Windermere House located at 2508 Windermere Road Windermere, ON P0B 1P0 Canada.

JOB DUTIES:

Prepare food consistently following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers.
Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, ensuring not to over-prepare estimated needs.
Date all food containers and rotate as per Windermere House standards, ensuring that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
Accept special requests from patrons for menu items and prepare food.
Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up. Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages. Assist in keeping the buffet stocked.
Return all unused food items on the next shift to designated storage areas, ensuring that all perishables are covered/dated.
Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems and control food waste, loss and usage per Windermere House standards.
Operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill.
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
Instruct kitchen assistants and helpers.
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Prerequisites:

Education: No Formal Education required

Experience & Skills: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience

Language: English

Hourly Rate: $17.20 to $ 30 per Hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent

Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay
