Description
Position: Restaurant Cook
Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
Wage: $15.20 – $17.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Working hours: 30-40 hours per week
Benefits:
- 10 days paid vacation per year or 4% of vacation pay
Job Duties:
- Prepare and cook complete meals and foods
- Order kitchen supplies and equipment
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
- Clean kitchen and work areas
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas
- Oversee overall kitchen operation and resolve any rising issue in the kitchen
- Give ideas on new menu items, regulate size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and purchase supplies
- Supervise and train kitchen helpers in food preparation
Job requirements:
- Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program for cooks
OR
Completion of college or other program in cooking
OR
Minimum 2~3 years of commercial cooking experience are required.
Educational Requirements:
- Completion of Secondary school

- English
