Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) to join our expanding team. As an ECEA, you will play a vital role in supporting our educators, facilitating engaging activities, and ensuring the well-being and safety of children in our care.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: CAD $22.50 per hour

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist Early Childhood Educators in planning and implementing age-appropriate programs and activities to foster physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

· Engage with children during playtime, learning sessions, and outdoor activities.

· Encourage and assist each child in carrying out daily activities, such as telling or reading stories, teaching songs, doing circle activities etc.

· Prepare food and snacks, and be aware of any dietary restrictions

· Assist children in proper eating, dressing and toilet habits

· Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment.

· Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on their child’s progress and well-being.

· Attend staff meetings to discuss difficult children and areas of improvement

· Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and the center’s policies.

 

Qualifications:

· Valid Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) Certificate is required.

· At least one year working experience in early childhood education.

· Knowledge of Montessori principles and practices is a strong asset.

· Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.

· First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain).

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· A genuine passion for working with children and helping them succeed.

· Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
