Spirit Beach Cantina is a Mexican restaurant, located at Osoyoos Lake.
We are currently looking to strengthen our team with a skilled ethnic food cook (2 vacancies), specialized in preparing and cooking ethnic Mexican cuisine. If you are a cook passionate about Mexican food, then Spirit Beach Cantina may be the place for you!
Job duties:
- cook and prepare lunch and dinner dishes for all customer
- prepare the schedule for the kitchen helpers
- supervise kitchen helpers
- prepare weekly food/supplies order
- check supplies/inventory on Sundays
- receive inventory/supplies on Monday
- check inventory on a daily basis
- receive, check and maintain inventory, records of foods, supplies and equipment
- manage kitchen operations
- ensure that the kitchen and work areas are always clean
- ensure that portion sizes are consistent
- support with planning menu
- keep track of food costs and monitor supplies
- train kitchen staff
Skills Requirements (education and work experience):
- Completion of secondary school
- Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program for cooks OR completion of college or other program in cooking or food safety OR several years of commercial cooking experience is required
- Sufficient English language skills to safely perform the job duties
These are full-time, permanent positions, based on 30 hours per week or more.
Wage: $18 per hour. There are no benefits.
The location of work is at the restaurant on 8000 45 St, Osoyoos, BC V0H 1V3.
