Farm Supervisors
Gill Growers is a blueberry farm located in Abbotsford, BC. We are looking for 2 Farm Supervisors to start working as soon as possible. We are offering a full-time position, 40 hrs. a week, to perform the following duties:
• Check and monitor for weed and pests. Train workers to identify pests on plants.
• Check the irrigation system, make repairs as needed and watch for poorly drained.
• Sample berries from each field to assess fruit rot levels.
• Train, coordinate, assign duties, to the farm workers.
• Supervise the growing and harvesting operations of the fruits.
• Make work schedules for the farm workers.
• Report quantity of the fruits harvested. Anticipate the need for contract labour.
• Coordinate with farm owners to order supplies, materials, and plants as needed.
Skills required:
A minimum of 1 year of farming experience is required.
Ability to communicate in English with workers, suppliers, etc.
Ability to withstand all weather conditions.
