Wage: $15.65-$16.00/Hr for 35-40 hours/week

Job Brief:

0832305 BC LTD DBA Subway is looking for food counter attendants, who can take customers’ orders, accept payment and serve customers at food counters. They may also prepare, heat and finish cooking simple food items and responsible for executing Take-out and delivery orders in a prompt, efficient way and performing a variety of other tasks within the restaurant.

Job Duties:

  • Use a cash register to take customers orders, accept payment and give change
  • Answer customer questions about menu items and serve customers at counters
  • Prepare food such as sandwiches, salads, soups, beverages including coffee
  • Wash, clean, peel, slice and trim food items using manual and electric appliances
  • Stock refrigerators, cupboards and salad bars
  • Keep records of the quantities of food used and wasted
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas including work surfaces, cupboards, oven, proofer and storage areas as well as dispose kitchen garbage
  • Sweep and mop floors, clean and clear tables, chairs and trays
  • Refill food stations and other supplies
  • Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the restaurant

Requirements:

  • Language: Basic English is a requirement
  • Education: Completion of secondary school is required
  • Experience: Proven experience in food preparation or service would be an asset

Core skills:

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and have a strong initiative
  • Good interpersonal skills to deal efficiently with co-workers and the customers
