    Job Duties:

Our Food Services Department is busy!

In your position at Davison Orchards, you can expect to be working with a dedicated team focused on product quality and consistency, and always thinking of the customer experience. At Davison Orchards you are always empowered, meaning you can look forward to learning tasks that will be completed individually to prepare for the next rush of customers.

 

Specifics to your future position of Food Counter Attendant and Food Preparer will include:

-opening and closing duties in Food Services

-always following food safe practices (on-the-job training)

-using appliances such as hot plates, ovens, hot dog rollers and grills in food preparation

-portioning, assembling, and plating food for customer pickup at the pick-up window

-preparing sandwiches and soups in the kitchen to fulfill orders

-preparing and pouring coffee, tea, and other specialty hot drinks

-restocking of kitchen refrigerators and product displays

-plating of single serve baking to fulfill orders

-product inventory counts

-maintaining a clean and organized kitchen throughout the shift

-clean, peel, slice and trim various foods using manual and electric appliances

-making large batches of soup, various take away entrée meals, and festival food (ie. Caramel apples in the fall)

-following our recipes precisely to ensure consistent product quality.

-Take customers' orders

-Clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances

-Use deep fryer, grill, oven, dispensers and other equipment to prepare fast food items such as sandwiches, hamburgers, fries, salads, ice cream dishes, milkshakes and other beverages

-Portion, assemble, and wrap food or place it directly on plates for service to patrons, and package take-out food

-Use equipment to prepare hot beverages such as coffee and tea specialties

-Serve customers at counters or buffet tables

-Stock refrigerators and salad bars and keep records of the quantities of food used

-May receive payment for food items purchased.

 

We do have a dress code policy in place for all staff at Davison Orchards. You will be issued Davison staff t-shirts and aprons to wear while on shift for food safety reasons. Pants, shorts, skirts must be neutral in color and show below the apron. As you will be working with food, long hair is required to be tied back, and fake nails and/or nail polish are not allowed. Closed toe, comfortable shoes are mandatory as there is lots of standing, walking, and lifting in a shift. Tattoos are allowed, but must be modest in size and tasteful in nature. Lastly, we follow public health guidelines as per the Provincial Health Officer of British Columbia, and as an employee you will be expected to follow these orders and what is laid out in Davison Orchards COVID safety plans.

 Job Requirements: – Weekend and Overtime may be required

– Good oral communication

– Able to work indoor and outdoors

– Able to lift  30 pounds

– Team member / team work

– Able to work without supervision after training

– Punctuality a must

– Able to follow instructions/directions

– Able to work with facemask when require
