Mizu Japanese Restaurant is a casual, no-frills spot for Japanese food with tempura, bento boxes, maki sushi trays & more. We are a well respected and popular hot-spot for fast, well priced, authentic Japanese cuisine in the Kelowna area.
Mizu Japanese Restaurant is looking for a Food Service Supervisor to strengthen the current team. If you have understanding of and/or experience with how a Japanese restaurant operates, then you may be the one we are looking for.
Title of position (2 vacancies): Food Service Supervisor
Job duties:
- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of staff who prepare, portion and serve food
- Estimate and order ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation
- Prepare food order summaries for chef according to requests from customers
- Establish work schedules and procedures
- Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
- Train staff in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures
- Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
- May participate in the selection of food service staff and assist in the development of policies, procedures and budgets
- May plan menus and determine related food and labour costs
This concerns full-time job offers (30 hours/week) for at least 1 year.
Wage: $20/hour. There are no benefits included in these job offers.
The location of the job will be in Kelowna, BC. The anticipated start date is 15 September 2021.
Requirements education/work experience: you need to have finished high-school. You also need to have either successfully completed a Hotel and Restaurant Management College Program (or in a related discipline ) or have several years of experience in food preparation or service. 2 positions to be filled.
