Skills Requirements:

  • Education: Completion of secondary/high school graduation certificate
  • Work experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience as a Food Service Supervisor or Food Counter Attendant is required

Job Duties:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of food counter attendants and kitchen staff responsible for preparing, portioning, and serving hot food items like sandwiches, subs, chicken wings, burgers, and baked goods. 
  • Estimate and order required ingredients and supplies to meet daily and weekly food preparation needs, ensuring availability and minimizing waste. 
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of food preparation areas, equipment, and tools, ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety standards; provide support for cleaning tasks when required. 
  • Develop and oversee work schedules and operational procedures for food preparation and service staff to ensure efficiency and adherence to service standards. 
  • Maintain detailed records of inventory levels, equipment repairs, sales performance, and waste to support operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. 
  • Participate in the hiring process for food service staff, including interviewing, selecting, and onboarding new team members; manage staff performance and ensure all records are up to date
  • Train food counter attendants and kitchen staff on job responsibilities, sanitation protocols, and safety standards to ensure consistent performance
  • Monitor and ensure that food quality and service consistently meet the business's established standards for customer satisfaction. 
  • Inspect food supplies and equipment regularly to maintain adequate stock levels and identify issues requiring maintenance or replacement. 
  • Assist in food preparation during peak hours, oversee menu updates, and support the creation of special menus for events or promotions. 
  • Perform the same duties as supervised staff when necessary to ensure service continuity during staff shortages or high customer demand.
