Prosko Farms Ltd. operates a large farming enterprise in north east Saskatchewan. The General Farm Worker will serve as a support to the farming operation of Prosko Farms Ltd. and is expected to make sound decisions in fulfilling his / her duties and responsibilities thus enhancing greater efficiency, productivity and profitability.
Requirements:
- Education: No degree, certificate or diploma
- One or more years of experience working in a farming enterprise
- Basic farm knowledge gained from working in an agricultural environment
- Only speaking English is required
- Capable of operating mid to very large sized farm machinery
- Being mechanically inclined will be viewed as an asset
- Able to perform repairs using basic welding and carpentry skills will be viewed as an asset
- Have excellent health with no allergies to grain dust or chemicals
- Demonstrated ability of decision making and problem solving
- Must have a clear vehicle driving abstract.
Duties:
- Fertilize, cultivate, spray, and harvest crops
- Assist in cultivating and harvesting crops
- Operate, service and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- Check, clean and repair grain storage bins
- Operate grain dryer and seed cleaning equipment
- Work cooperatively as a team member
- Wear appropriate personal safety equipment
- Perform duties to ensure the personal safety of self and others
- Complete miscellaneous duties as directed by the farm owner
