Healthcare Aide Position – Private Home Care
Location: NW Calgary, AB
Employment Type: Part-Time
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Aide to support a senior woman living with multiple sclerosis. The ideal candidate is experienced, reliable, and committed to providing high-quality, respectful care in a home setting.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, and hygiene
  • Provide support with physiotherapy exercises as directed
  • Apply compression socks and assist with lung volume recruitment (LVR)
  • Monitor and record blood pressure
  • Administer medications accurately
  • Perform safe patient transfers using a lift
  • Prepare nutritious meals 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe home environment
  • Manage laundry and light housekeeping tasks
  • Use a computer for basic tasks and care documentation
Required Qualities and Skills:
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Positive attitude and a commitment to providing person-centered care
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Comfortable working in a home with dogs
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Up-to-date immunizations, including influenza vaccine
  • Valid driver’s license and driver’s abstract (ability to drive client’s vehicle)
  • Own reliable vehicle for transportation
