AmCana is currently looking for Crane and Heavy Equipment Mechanics to join our team based out of Burgessville Ontario.  Our Crane and Heavy Equipment Mechanics are responsible to repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul and maintain mobile cranes and heavy-duty equipment used in our rental and sales business.  The Mechanics are also responsible to provide regular inspections and servicing in accordance with industry regulations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Check cranes, boom trucks, and other heavy equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions;
·       Perform regular maintenance and inspections on all equipment (rentals and sales) to meet and exceed regulatory requirements.
·       Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required;
·       Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools;
·       Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications;
·       Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment;
·       Service attachments such as winches and side booms;
·       May provide engine overhauls, power shift transmission light services, fuel injection, hydraulics or electronics services;
·       Requisition materials and supplies;
·       Train or arrange for training of workers;
·       Recommend personnel actions such as hirings and promotions;
·       Prepare production and other reports.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
·      Must have a combination of over four years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in heavy equipment repairs;
·      Ability to interact with people effectively and in a professional manner;
·      Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
