Description
Hiring a Head Cook (Sushi)
– Completion of high school is required.
– Several years (2~3 years) of commercial cooking experience or, completion of college or other program in cooking is required.
– Ability to prepare traditional & fusion Japanese cuisine (sushi, sashimi, various rolls, salad and etc.) is a definite asset.
– Executive Japanese culinary experience is a definite asset.
– Main duties: Plan, cook and direct overall food preparation of the Sushi Bar, develop & create new recipe and special menus, Estimate food requirements, Supervise activities of cooks and kitchen staff, train junior cooks
– 40 hours week (full-time & permanent position), and salary will be $23-$24 per hour (depends on experience and expertise).
– 4% vacation fee of gross salary or 10 days paid vacation, gratuities and free meals, and extended health benefit after 3 months of employment.
