Main duties
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the operations of the food processing department, including but not limited to strategies, analysis, forecasting and budget management.
- Develop and implement plans to efficiently utilize materials, labor, and equipment to achieve food processing targets while maintaining quality and food safety standards.
- Plan and manage the departmental budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Develop production schedules and maintain adequate inventory of raw food, packaging materials, and finished food products to meet customer demand.
- Plan and implement improvements to machinery, equipment, processing systems, and work methods to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Direct and monitor quality control processes to ensure that food products meet regulatory and company standards; develop procedures for processing reporting and record-keeping.
- Establish and oversee equipment maintenance schedules and recommend repair or replacement of machinery as needed.
- Hire, supervise, and train employees, and coordinate or oversee their training on new equipment, production techniques, and food safety practices.
- Co-ordinate the work of departments
- Report to the board of directors
Employment requirements
- Completion of a college or university program in relative field is required.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience is required.
- Candidates with prior experience of food processing will be given a priority.
- Exceptional time management skills, attention to detail, team player and leadership skills.
- Ability to multitask, independence and prioritize is a must.
