Description
Position: Veterinarian Assistant
Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
Wage: $16.00 – $19.00 (Depending on Experience)
Hours: 30-40 hours/week

Job Duties:
- Able to comply with hospital standards, regulations, and policies
- Liaising with veterinarians and technicians to ensure continuity of patient care
- Perform diagnostic imaging and laboratory tests
- Assist with administering medication, drawing blood, before and after surgery
- Retrain irritable, aggressive patients appropriately and safely where required
- Provide empathetic care for hospitalized patients and keeping cages clean and sanitized
- Ensure clients and pets are comfortable in waiting area
- Sterilize equipment
- Ensure treatment areas, examination rooms, laboratories are clean and organized
- Perform a variety of office management and clerical duties
Education requirements: Completion of two or three year veterinary or animal health technology diploma or a related program is required.
Work Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience as a veterinarian assistant.
