J.Y Tiling LTD is seeking F/T Tile Installer

Description

Position Info:

·         Position: Tile Installer

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $38.00- $39.00/hour (depending on experience)

·         Hours: 30 – 40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions: 1

·         Work Location: 269 Lone Oak Pl, Victoria, BC V9B 0X3

Benefits:

·         10 days paid vacation per year or 4% vacation pay

Job Duties:

·         Prepare, measure and mark surface to be covered

·         Construct underbeds and install anchor bolts, cables and brackets

·         Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using hand trowel

·         Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting equipment

·         Place tiles and apply pressure to affix them to the base

·         Install tile strips

·         Cut, surface, polish and install marble and granite

·         Use levels, squares and straightedges to align and straighten tiles

·         Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural and floor designs

·         Mix, lay and polish terra surfaces

·         Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout

·         Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles

·         May prepare cost estimates and orders

·         Supervise other workers and teach apprentices

Job requirements:

·         Experience: 3~5 years of experience in related field is required

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required

·         Language: English
