Position: Kitchen Manager
Work Hours: 30 – 40 hrs per week (weekends and holidays)
Wage: $17.00
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start date: ASAP
Benefits: Vacation pay and extended benefits after three months of full-time employment
Work Location: 145-12830 Clarke Place, Richmond V6V 2H5
Key duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and supervise food preparation
- Ensure that foods meet quality control standards
- Supervise the kitchen activity and check assembly of special diet trays or recipes to prevent any allergy-related problems
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of staff
- Train staff in sanitation, safety procedures, and job duties
- Estimate and order of ingredients and supplies needed for meal preparation
- Keep track of the records of stocks, repairs, sales, and any waste
- Ensure that the food and service have the quality control standards and safety
- Interactively participate in menu creation and planning
- May participate in the kitchen staff selection
Requirements/Education and other requirements:
- Completion of secondary school is required
- Completion of a diploma in food service administration or culinary arts, or several years of experience in food preparation
- Excellent time-management skills and flexibility
- Ability to adapt and stay focused in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Ability to lift 23 Kg (50 lbs)
