Umai Sushi in Nanaimo, BC is currently looking for Line Cooks to join our team.
Position: Line Cook
Positions Available: 2
Wage: CAD$18.00~19.00/hour (depending on experience)
Types: Full-time, Permanent
Working hours: 30~40 hrs/week
Vacation: 10 days paid vacation per year or 4% of gross salary for vacation pay

Job Duties:
– Prepare ingredients and cook Japanese hot food items from the menu including teriyaki, donburi, udon, yakisoba and tempura
– Make adjustment to food items to accommodate customers with dietary restrictions
– Ensure food quality and food safety
– Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies and equipment
– Supervise and train kitchen helpers
– Clean kitchen and work area
Job requirements:
– Completion of secondary school is required.
– A minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial cooking is required.
– Language of work: English
