Description
One full time vacancy at $18.25/hr for 40 hours/wk. Work from 0800 – 4:30, Monday to Friday. Duties include: administering medications, assisting with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, assisting with regular exercise (e.g. walking), assumes responsibility for the household in the absence of the householder, launders clothing and household linens, performs light housekeeping and cleaning. Provides companionship and personal care. Prepares and serves nutritious meals. Handles between 61 and 80 kgs (133-176 lbs.)
Required Language: English
Education Level: Secondary (High) school graduating certificate or equivalent experience.
Required Skills: Experience of one year to less than 2 years working with the elderly. Physical capabilities include: bending, crouching, kneeling, a combination of sitting, standing for extended peirods and working under pressure.
Additional Skills/Assets: Punctual, possesses a client focus. Dependable, efficient, excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills. Must be flexible, show initiative and exercise good judgement. Must be organized and reliable. CPR and First Aid required. Criminality, Immunization Record and Vulnerable Sector checks all required.
