A Star Doors and Hardware Inc has a reputation for quality services in Residential and Commercial Construction, Painting and Refinishing, serving the Greater Toronto Area and South Western Ontario.

A Star’s offers services beyond traditional door finishing and painting methods. Where required, A Star implements spray painting as well as rolling and brushing. Other finishes include varnishes, sealants, and specialty coatings.

We are seeking two (2) self-motivated Carpenters with experience in the industry (or related industry) to construct, install, and repair structures and components made of wood, lightweight steel and other materials used in residential construction and repair projects.

This would be an excellent opportunity for someone with experience to establish their career with a reputable construction and paving company. 

Job Duties:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements;
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials;
• Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware;
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures;
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems;
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools;
• Occasionally prepare cost estimates for clients.

Qualifications:

• Must have at least 2 years of Carpentry experience in Construction or related industry
• Good time and document management skills
• Work well in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communicator with a focus in workplace safety.
