Wage: 20$ -23 $ per hour
Benefits Package (if applicable): 45 dollars per day out of town allowance for an 8 hour day and free accommodation when working outside of the Kelowna Region , other dental and medical benefits are optional after 3 months
Hours (each week): 32
Location of work: 75% of the work would be on Vancouver Island and area but will be working in various locations in Southern British Columbia such as Kootney, Lower Mainland, Thomposon-Okanagan, and Vancouver Island and Coastal regions.
Education: Some secondary school would be an asset
Work Experience: Experience is an asset, willing to train
Job Duties: Under the direction of the site foreman: move/haul material, pull water lines, fire caulking,
thread pipe and assist with any other tasks required.
Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas
Work independently to thread pipe, install laundry boxes, with supervision:
begin drainage, soldering, assembling tub valves and assist with any other tasks required. (training will be provided)
Keep work areas clean, remove and dispose of old material and bring new material for trades people to install.
Get tools for trades people as required as well as clean tools before putting back
Complete tasks that trades people require to ensure task is completed quickly and accurately
Work in a fast environment with various trades and people
Accept and action direction from a supervisor
Perform other duties as required
Job Requirements: Mechanical aptitude
Strength, stamina and the use of proper lifting techniques required to handle heavy tools and
parts weighing up to 25 kilograms
Ability to visualize a finished product from a document
Ability to stand for long periods of time and do some moderately heavy lifting and carrying
Ability to work in high, awkward and noisy places
Ability to work alone or with others
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75lbs several times through a day
The ability to contribute to a highly team-oriented environment
Strong communication skills
Safety conscience
