Ocean Gate Fishery Ltd., located in Richmond, British Columbia in Canada catches fresh fish and seafood and processed them quickly to maintain that freshness. Adjacent to the entrance to Steveston Port, Richmond serves as homeport for a largest fleet of trawlers and long liners in Canadian Pacific Coast that ply the abundant waters of the Pacific Ocean the year round. We are proud to process the west coast's quality seafood. Ocean Gate Fishery Ltd., is working closely with productions and domestic sales force selling seafood around the world.
Position: Seafood Plant Worker (NOC 9463 – C)
Hours: Monday to Friday (30~40 hours/week & overtime needed)
Hourly Wage: $17.00 ~ $19.00 (Depends on experience)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Benefits: 10days paid vacation or 4% of vacation fee

Primary Service of Business: Wholesale Fishery
MAIN DUTIES:
- Set up and operate machines to clean, cut, process fish and seafood products
- Set up and operate machines to package fish and seafood products
- Cut, clean and trim fish or seafood prior to further processing
- Perform physical tasks (Lifting 50-60 lbs for repetitive periods)
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools
- Efficient and accurate sorting and packing of outgoing product
- Cleaning and sanitizing
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Comfortable working in a cooler/freezer/wet environment
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Customer focus and team work
- Problem solving
- Forklift certificate is an asset (more wage)
- Seafood knife skill is an asset (more wage)
- Some secondary school education may be required
- On-the-job training is required
