Position Info:

• Position: First Cook
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $34.62~$36.00/hour (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 30~40 hours/week
• Number of Positions:  1
• Work Location: 1031 Kingsway, Vancouver, BC V5V 3C7

• 4% vacation pay

Job Duties:

• Prepare and cook entire meals or specific menu items
• Maintain inventory and records of food, kitchen supplies, and equipment
• Schedule and supervise the activities of the kitchen assistant
• Oversee kitchen operations
• Order food ingredients, kitchen supplies, and equipment when required
• Ensure and inspect kitchen, food storage, and food prep areas are clean and sanitized
• Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures
• Plan menus, determine size of food portions, and estimate food requirements and cost
• Recruit and train new kitchen assistants in food preparation, cooking, and usage of kitchen equipment

Job requirements:

• Experience: 2~3 years of commercial cooking experience are required
• Education: Completion of Secondary School is required
• Language: English
