Bella Italia Ristorante is a well-established Italian Restaurant in Sun Peaks, BC, located within the Hearthstone Lodge. We are a well-respected and popular hot-spot for high-quality, well-priced, authentic Italian cuisine. We are open 7 days/week. We also hold a liquor license for the conference center in the Hearthstone lodge where we host Christmas parties, reunions, group breakfasts and other events.
Bella Italia is looking for a Sous-Chef to strengthen the current team. If you have understanding of and experience in Italian cooking, then you may be the one we are looking for.
Title of position (2 vacancies): Sous-Chef
Job duties:

- Supervise activities of cooks, dishwashers and other kitchen workers
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
- Order food and kitchen supplies as needed
- Prepare and cook meals for our guests
- Prepare and cook complete meals, like pastas, sauces, soups, salads, vegetables and meat, poultry and fish dishes, as well as pastries
- Create decorative food displays for special events such as banquets
- Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
- Create specials for service
- Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
- May help plan menus
- Run the line for service five days a week
- Supervise and help the cleaning of the kitchen
This concerns full-time job offers (at least 30 hours/week) for at least 1 year.
Wage: $20/hour. There are no benefits included in these job offers, except for either a ski pass or a golf pass.
The location of the job will be in Sun Peaks, BC. The anticipated start date is 1 November 2022.
Requirements education/work experience: you need to have finished high-school. You also need to have a Cook's trade certification OR equivalent credentials, training and experience. You also need to have several years of experience in commercial food preparation.
