FARM OPERATION (APIARY) SUPERVISOR (NOC8252) FULL TIME
B-Y’s Honey Farm located in Niagara, Ontario urgently requires 1 Permanent & Full Time, Farm Operation (Apiary) Supervisor.
We are a family owned and operated apiary business, serving you, the Niagara Region and the Environment. We are very happy to introduce B-Y’S Honey Farm and all its products and services it brings to our community.
Due to the alarming decrease in honeybees, B-Y’s Honey Farm has been working hard to raise healthy honeybees for the better of our environment and future. Honeybees are vital to our existence.
Our goal is to make a difference in the honeybee population and provide the most natural quality products around.
We are located on a 50-acre farm in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. We also have a retail store that provides beekeeping supplies, pure unpasteurized honey, honey products, natural skin creams, natural candles and much more.
Apiary Supervisor – B-Y’s Honey Farm is looking for a full time, Apiary Supervisor with minimum of 2+ years of beekeeping experience. The work is hot & heavy; candidates should be physically fit and able to lift 50lbs regularly. Supervisors earn $20.20 plus per hour depending on their experience level. Candidates must be able to work in a team environment.
Knowledge of Farm operations such as Queen rearing, collection of propolis, Bee bread, pollen and Honey harvesting.
Job duties include Supervising, beekeeping, moving and feeding hives, adding boxes for honey, pulling honey boxes off, extracting honey, fall feeding and wrapping hives for winter. Teaching and directing a crew, managing hive health and knowledge of bee locations. Correspondence with management is also required. Completion of secondary school will be an asset. Basic knowledge of English is required.
Compensation: $20.20/hour for 30-40 hours/week along with 4% vacation pay
