Position Info:

• Position: Early Childhood Educator
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $22.50 ~ $23.00/hour (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions: 2
• Work Location: 211-800 McBride Blvd., New Westminster, BC V3L 2B8

Job Duties:

• Develop child-care programs that support children's overall growth by offering a balanced mix of activities—active and quiet, indoor and outdoor, free and structured—that cater to their physical, cognitive, social, intellectual, emotional, and sensory development
• Plan and conduct diverse age-appropriated activities for different group sizes, including sensory stimulation, art, music, movement, science exploration, and community filed trips, to encourage children’s creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
• Guide activities by narrating or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local attractions, while planning and implementing techniques that stimulate their curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Train and aid children in learning how to independently utilize the restroom, consume food, and dress themselves
• Take necessary steps to keep the area clean and safe for the health of children, and ensure adherence to safety protocols during emergencies
• Keep daycare equipment organized and sanitized by arranging space, equipment, and materials before activities and ensuring proper supervision throughout the academy
• Pay close attention to children and report any behavioral changes to the supervisor, parents, and guardians

Job requirements:

• Education: College Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education is required
• Experience: Experience is an asset
• Certificate: First Aid Certificate & CPR Certificate and E.C.E Certificate
• Language: English
