Description
Under the direction of the Director of Care and in accordance with the regulations of the Health Disciplines Act, the Registered Practice Nurse shall plan, delegate and supervise care given by non-registered nursing personnel within his/her assigned unit in accordance with the Standards of Practice of the College on Nurses on Ontario.

QUALIFICATIONS:
o Current certification of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
o Current membership with R.P.N.A.O is desirable
o Minimum one year experience in geriatric, rehabilitation or long term care as an RPN
o Knowledge in MDS coding
o Knowledge of aboriginal culture considering asset
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Provide quality nursing care to residents
o Ensures and promotes quality level of care to residents with respect to Bill of Rights
o Promotes the philosophy and practices of resident centeredness and humanizing in all residents’ encounters and decisions
o Provides nursing leadership as directed by the RN
o Promote interrelationships with family
o Maintain communication between staff and nursing administration and other department
