Head Baker

We are looking for a Head Baker for EPI Bread located at 105 Vanderhoof Ave,Unit 9, Toronto, M4G 2H7, Canada. However you may be required to work at various locations in the region.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and oversee the daily production of bread, pastries, and other baked goods, ensuring consistency and quality throughout all shifts.

• Expertly mix and prepare dough for a wide variety of baked items, including artisanal bread, pastries, rolls, sweet treats, and specialty batters for muffins, donuts, and seasonal products.

• Create, customize, and apply icings and frostings, adhering to both standard recipes and special customer requests for custom orders.

• Train and mentor new bakers, teaching them to follow recipes accurately, troubleshoot issues, and uphold high standards of product quality.

• Perform quality control checks to ensure that all baked goods meet company standards for taste, texture, and presentation.

• Oversee the cleanliness, hygiene, and safety of the baking area, ensuring compliance with sanitation protocols.

• Ensure that all equipment is operated safely and cleaned thoroughly at the end of each shift, preventing malfunctions and maintaining longevity.

• Develop daily prep lists, assign specific production tasks to the baking team, and ensure the smooth flow of operations.

• Manage the scheduling of the baking staff, balancing workload and ensuring proper coverage during peak production periods.

• Monitor inventory levels for ingredients and supplies, placing orders and managing stock to ensure production runs without interruptions.

• Assist with problem-solving and suggest improvements to production processes.

Prerequisites:

Education: Secondary school certificate or equivalent experience 

Experience & Skills: 5 years or more experience in a similar position

Language English

Physical: 

Annual Salary: $65000 to $75000 annually for 30 to 40 Hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent

Benefits:  4 % Vacation Pay
