Position Info:

• Position: Chef
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $31.00-$37.00/hour (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions:  1
• Work Location: 1455 Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver, BC V7M 2H9

Benefits:

• 10 days paid vacation per year

Job Duties:

• Estimate required quantities of food and supplies, and determine associated costs
• Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory levels
• Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty dishes in line with the restaurant’s menu
• Train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe food handling practices
• Instruct cooks on food preparation, cooking methods, garnishing, and presentation standards
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of cooks and other kitchen staff
• Order and maintain stock of food and kitchen supplies
• Plan menus and ensure all food items meet quality and consistency standards

Job requirements:

• Experience: 2-3 years of commercial cooking experience is required
• Education: Completion of secondary school is required
• Language: English
