We are looking for well experienced Cooks for The Grocery Store located at 4211 Village Square Whistler, BC V8E 1H4 Canada.

JOB DUTIES:

• Follow all recipes and practice portion control to consistently prepare, garnish, and present ordered items according to company standards.
• Prepare a wide variety of appetizers, main courses, and other menu items, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Accept and accommodate special requests from patrons, adjusting preparation as needed while maintaining food quality and presentation.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to prepare food orders within designated time limits, ensuring efficient service during peak periods.
• Instruct and supervise kitchen assistants and helpers, providing guidance and training to maintain high standards of performance.
• Maintain proper and adequate daily set-up of the kitchen and individual stations, including requisitioning, stocking, and organizing all required food, paper products, and condiments.
• Handle, store, and rotate all food products properly to maintain freshness and compliance with health regulations.
• Responsible for the set-up, regular maintenance, cleaning, and break-down of all kitchen machinery and equipment.
• Oversee the cutting, storage, and management of all perishables daily to ensure consistent product quality and minimize waste.
• Return all items used during the shift to their proper locations and ensure all work and storage areas are clean, organized, and ready for the next shift.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with company policies and local regulations.
• Contribute to an efficient, safe, and well-organized kitchen environment while supporting team productivity and high-quality food preparation.

Prerequisites:

Education: Secondary school or equivalent

Experience & Skills: 1 year to less than 2 years in cooking

Language: English

Hourly Rate: $ 19 to $ 25 per Hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Full-time and permanent

Benefits: 4 % vacation pay
