Accounting Technician

Brief:

Harris Victoria is looking to add an Accounting Technician to our team! Under limited supervision, the Accounting Technician main duties will consist of assisting the controller with payroll, month end duties and completion of the financial statement.

Job duties:

• Process payroll for dealership employees, including sales commissions, bonuses, and overtime.
• Remit payroll deductions, GST/HST, PST, and other government filings.
• Assist the controller with forecasting, financial statements and month end reports.
• Reconcile manufacturer statements, warranty and incentive claims.
• Work with department managers with their inquiries.
• Reconcile & record all floorplan transactions within the dealership.
• Support fellow staff as needed.

Qualifications:

• Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
• 2+ years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
• Experience with Dealership DMS systems such as PBS and CDK is an asset.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
