We are looking for a Clinical Dietitian for a long term care home at 1230 Balmoral Road, Victoria BC V8T 1B3

JOB DUTIES:

 

  • Assess, monitor, and document residents’ nutritional needs through ongoing evaluations.

  • Develop and update individualized meal and nutrition care plans.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, food services, speech therapists, and families to meet dietary needs.

  • Provide guidance on therapeutic diets, modified textures, supplements, and feeding protocols.

  • Oversee menu planning and review menus for compliance with dietary guidelines and resident needs.

  • Conduct meal rounds to ensure food quality, presentation, and resident satisfaction.

  • Train and support kitchen and care staff on nutrition-related policies, safe feeding, and dietary requirements.

  • Provide education sessions for residents, families, and staff on healthy eating and specialized nutrition.

  • Audit kitchen practices for food safety, sanitation, portion control, and quality assurance.

  • Monitor inventory of nutritional supplements and coordinate with suppliers as required.
    Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and contribute to overall care planning.

  • Ensure compliance with provincial health, accreditation, and food safety standards.

  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and policy development for dietary services.

  • Support implementation of new nutritional programs, technology, or dietary systems within the facility.

  • May perform other duties reasonably assigned.

 

Prerequisites:

 

Education: Bachelor's degree in dietetics, nutrition or a related field
Certification: Successful completion of the Canadian Dietetic Registration Exam (CDRE)
Licensed Registered Dietitian (Licensed to practice in the province of BC).
Valid Driving License, with a clear Drivers Abstract. 

Experience & Skills: 2 year to less than 3 years of experience in healthcare

Language: English

 

Annual Salary: $95,000 annually for 40 Hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Full-time and permanent
