Description
We are looking for a well experienced Purchasing Specialist for “Cheese Boutique” located at 45 Ripley Ave, Toronto, ON M6S 3P2, Canada.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Curate and source premium artisanal cheeses from regional and international producers, ensuring each selection meets Cheese Boutique’s quality standards and complements the store’s evolving culinary themes.
Procure boutique wines and specialty beverages in collaboration with premium vineyards and wine producers, aligning selections with seasonal collections, tasting events, and exclusive in-store offerings.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vintners, and creameries, fostering partnerships that emphasize craftsmanship, sustainability, and authenticity in every product.
Negotiate purchase terms and vendor contracts for gourmet goods, packaging materials, and exclusive accessories such as cheese boards, knives, and wine glassware that reflect the brand’s aesthetic.
Evaluate and forecast inventory needs across the cheese vault, wine studio, and specialty departments, ensuring a consistent supply of aged cheeses, limited-edition wines, and curated event products.
Forecast inventory requirements across both retail locations, the cheese vault, and mobile units, maintaining optimal stock levels for 500+ cheese varieties and 16,000 gourmet products.
Plan and execute purchasing schedules for seasonal events, themed showcases, and tasting tours, ensuring availability of curated selections for occasions such as Beaujolais Nights, fundraisers, and private pairings.
Manage supplier logistics and delivery coordination, ensuring refrigerated supply chains and timely restocking across in-store, online, and wholesale channels.
Prepare procurement reports and sourcing analyses, providing management with insights on purchasing trends, supplier reliability, and potential collaborations within the gourmet food and wine sectors.
Champion ethical and community-driven sourcing practices, supporting local producers and contributing to initiatives such as the Cheese Boutique Mental Health Promise Fund through mindful purchasing partnerships.
Prerequisites:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Experience & Skills: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience.
Language: English
Hourly Rate: $ 36.00 to $ 38.00 per Hour for 30 to 40 hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Full time and permanent
Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay
