Salary: $17.00 per hour
Hours: 30 to 38 hours per week (Must be able to work on Saturday and Sunday)
Y93 Sushi Crave Japanese Cafe in SE Calgary is seeking an Assistant Cook/Supervisor to join our dynamic team of 10 individuals. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, punctual, and reliable, with a passion for Japanese cuisine and culture.
Responsibilities:
– Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
– Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers.
– Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
– Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
– Chop vegetables, prepare sauces, and assist with other food preparation tasks.
– Cook menu items in collaboration with the rest of the kitchen staff.
– Clean up station and manage leftover food.
– Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen and work area.
– Stock inventory and monitor supplies.
– Hand wash dishes.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
– Fast-paced environment requiring quick and efficient work.
– Ability to work effectively under pressure.
– Attention to detail is essential for maintaining quality standards.
– Work involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and cleaning tasks.
Qualifications:
– Must have completed secondary school.
– Minimum of 2 years of cooking or back-of-the-house experience.
– Able to meet scheduling commitments.
– Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
– Capable of anticipating the needs of others in the kitchen and proactively working to meet those needs.
– Strong attention to detail.
– Appreciation for Japanese Food and Culture.
Language: English working environment.
Additional Requirements:
– At least 2 years of related experience.
– Long-term commitment preferred.
Work setting: Café, Restaurant, and Foodservice.
