We are currently looking for a baker to join our team!

  • Vacancies: 2
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week (Day, Weekend, Flexible hours, Overtime may be required)
  • Wage: $18.00 per hour
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Benefits: 10 days of paid vacation after 1 year of working continuously

Key duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare dough for tarts, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for scones, cookies, and cakes according to recipes or special customer orders
  • Bake mixed doughs and batters
  • Hand shape sourdough breads, baguettes and viennoiseries
  • Mix various ingredients to create fillings for pastries and tarts
  • Decorate flat tarts and other baked goods and prepare custom-made pastries for special order or seasonal baked goods as needed
  • Ensure quality of products meets established standards and identify damaged or expired goods
  • Draw up production schedule to determine type and quantity of goods to produce
  • May train and supervise new baking personnel and kitchen staff
  • Operate machinery and adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
  • Clean kitchen equipment and tools before and after use

 

Requirements/Education and other requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is required
  • Successful completion of a Pastry and/or Culinary Diploma or 1-2 years of commercial baking experience is required
  • Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and dough sheeters
  • Excellent time-management skills and flexibility to work in early morning shifts
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
  • Understanding of food safety practices
  • Ability to lift 23 Kg (50 lbs)
