Position Info:

• Position: Tilesetter
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $30.00 – $37.00/hour (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions: 5
• Work Location: 6691 Mirah Road, Saanichton, BC V8M 1Z4

Job Duties:

• Prepare, measure and mark surface to be covered
• Construct underbeds and install anchor bolts, cables and brackets
• Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using hand trowel
• Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting equipment
• Place tiles and apply pressure to affix them to the base
• Install tile strips
• Cut, surface, polish and install marble and granite
• Use levels, squares and straightedges to align and straighten tiles
• Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout
• Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
• May prepare cost estimates and orders

Job requirements:

• Experience: 2~3 years of experience in related field is required
• Education: Completion of secondary school is required
• Language: English
