CANAAN Meats CO. LTD. dba Canaan Meat Shop in Burnaby, BC is looking for a Butcher.

Conditions:

• Job Title: Butcher (NOC 63201)
• Working Hours: 30 – 40 hours per week (Full time, Permanent position)
• Wage: $23.00 / hour (depending on skills and experience)
• Vacation: 10 days paid vacation per year or 4% gross salary
• Number of Positions: 1

Requirements:

• Education: Completion of secondary school
• Necessary training will be provided
• Person with previous experience in a similar setting will be given priority, but experience is not a mandatory requirement
• Language: English

Job Duties:

• Cut, trim, and otherwise prepare standard cuts of meat for sale at self-serve counters or according to customers' orders
• Grind meats and slice meats using powered grinders and slicing machines
• Prepare special displays of beef, chicken, and pork
• Shape, lace and tie roasts and other meats and poultry
• Wrap and package prepared meats and poultry
• Manage inventory, keep records of sales and determine amount, product line and freshness of products according to company and customer requirements
• Ensure food storage conditions are adequate
• Weigh meats for sale
• Working in a team or independently with little supervision
