| Hours of Work: | 32-40 Hours a week |
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
- Develop computer-assisted design (CAD) engineering designs and drawings based on reports from field inspections of soils and asphaltic concrete.
- Prepare construction specifications, BOMs, and project schedules
- Conduct inspection and testing of soils, asphaltic concrete and other construction materials.
- Conduct assessment testing of concrete quality during pouring of new concrete.
- Conducting field inspections and reporting for construction projects.
- Writing preliminary technical field reports for field visits and recording observations.
- Creating borehole logs describing soil characteristics and geotechnical properties.
- Carrying out routine laboratory testing of various soils parameters.

- Conduct field measurements for underpinning Jobs.
- Drafting the field measurements and the proposed alternative for submission to the city of Toronto and getting building permits for the clients.
- Preparing environmental site assessment drawings for Phase Is and IIs reports.
Desired skills and requirements
- Minimum one-year experience working with an architectural/construction company as a Civil Engineering Technician/Technologist is required.
- Must have proficiency in the AutoCAD software
- Certification in a related engineering design software or drafting technology an asset
- College level diploma in Civil Engineering, drafting techniques or related discipline is required
- Team oriented individual with demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and self-directed.
